 As an Accounting Associate, you will play a key role on our Finance Team with exposure to areas such as: inventory management, cash management, accounts receivable and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of accounting and be ready to take part in a fast-paced and exciting environment that is continuously growing!

 

Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform various account and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare supporting working papers for inventory, inventory in transit, cash, sales and related accounts.
  • Investigate discrepancies in cash and inventory balances and prepare accounting adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor customer accounts including payments and credit privileges, and following up to collect on overdue accounts.
  • Investigate variances with invoices and purchase orders received at store level.
  • Communicate effectively to resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other administrative, reporting and data entry duties as required.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience however post-secondary education will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software packages.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, business administration or related fields would be an asset.
  • General knowledge of the retail industry would also be an asset.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work free of errors.
  • Must pass a basic security clearance.
