Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Associate will perform a variety of accounting duties including data entry of invoices, correspondence with vendors and processing of payments. Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Keeping track of payments and expenditures, including data entry of invoices
  • Preparation of Electronic funds transfer (EFT) and cheque batches for timely vendor payments
  • Communicate with vendors and internal staff to resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain vendor and historical files
  • Investigating variances with invoicing and reconcile vendor statements
  • Administrative work related to filing, storage, and couriers
  • Other finance related duties as required

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in accounting, business administration or related field preferred
  • Minimum, 1-2 years’ accounts payable experience
  • Previous experience with financial month-end close processes
  • Previous experience in a retail environment is considered an asset
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required with proficiency in other MS Office Suite applications
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance
  • Must have reliable transportation
