Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, the Designer will join a fast-paced team of friendly, business minded developers and will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining internal applications and processes.  We will be using design, content, and technology to create a great online shopping experience that helps our customers find the products they love more easily. We are searching for a talented, driven and exceptionally motivated Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work within the digital marketing team, but also work cross-functionally with our technology folks.

 

Role and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design content that results in conversions, is responsive, optimized, standards-based and cross-browser compatible.
  • Create/update templates including landing, category, and product pages for improved conversion.
  • Create responsive page designs for desktop, mobile and tablet with a focus on current best practices for site navigation, website usability, imagery/graphics, and intuitive user experiences.
  • Testing and improving the design of the website.
  • Utilize and build on design guidelines and brand standards
  • Produce design assets for use in social media and marketing channels.
  • and maintain consistent branding, building on guidelines, standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with marketing, development, and other teams.
  • Utilize data and analytics in making decisions and be comfortable running A/B testing.
  • Create and maintain a database of assets.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Total mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Experience working in-house or with an agency as a designer
  • Experience in designing for the , specifically e-commerce websites
  • A portfolio of work with examples of web pages (e-commerce preferred), email campaigns, banner ads, social media content and other art created for digital use
  • A modern aesthetic current with creative trends
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and under short deadlines
  • Familiarity with the use of typography and grids Awareness of UI/UX principles
  • Passion about in general with a great understanding of color palettes, gradients, and flat
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Shopify and DotNetNuke)
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS (preferred)
  • Good understanding of search engine optimization principles
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Up-to-date experience with international protocols, standards, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience in retail industry, including operation of brick and mortar store(s) will be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in latest and most effective SEO/SEM tactics and analytics will be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in digital analytics and consumer insights will be considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of content management systems, Ecommerce platforms, MS Office suite
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance
  • Must have reliable transportation
